PMKVY

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Under this Scheme, Training and Assessment fees are completely paid by the Government.

RPL

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a platform to provide recognition to the informal learning or learning through work to get equal acceptance as the formal levels of education. It aims to appreciate prior learning irrespective of the medium of achieving it. In short, RPL is a process of assessment of an individual’s prior learning to give due importance to learning as an outcome rather than learning as process.

RGCY

Rajiv Gandhi Chaitanya Yojane (RGCY) has been launched in Karnataka to provide employment for Two lakh rural unemployed youth. One lakh youth to be provided with self employment and one lakh youth with skill training and placement targeting 40 youth per Gram panchayat duly selected by Gram Sabha in all the 5627 Gram Panchayaths of Karnataka. The process involves developing / involving Community resource persons for creating awareness among rural youth about the program to take-up self employment.

NULM

National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM)/DMA (Karnataka) mission is to reduce the poverty and vulnerability of the urban poor households by enabling them to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities, resulting in an appreciable improvement in their livelihoods on a sustainable basis, through building strong grassroots level institutions of the poor. It aims at partnership with the private sector in providing skill training, employment and operation of shelter for homeless. It will strive for active participation of private and civil society sectors in providing shelter to the urban homeless, skill training and placement of the urban poor and also in facilitating technological, marketing and handholding support for the urban poor entrepreneurs who want to be self-employed and set up their own small businesses or manufacturing units.

ESDM

ESSCI's focus is on establishing an effective and efficient ecosystem for developing and imparting of outcome oriented skills for the Electronics Systems, Design and Manufacturing Industry (ESDM). ESSCI's mandate comprises plethora of deliverables including development of curriculum, courses, information database, delivery system. ESSCI is responsible for standardization, accreditation and certification processes to enhance the employability of the Indian workforce globally. Electronics Sector Skills Council of India envisions to enable a world class electronics manufacturing industry with an ecosystem for skill development and enhance employability of the large number of Indian human resource.

PMGDSA

Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyaan is the scheme to make one person in every family digitally literate is one of the integral components of the Prime Minister's vision of "Digital India". The Scheme would empower the citizens in rural areas by training them to operate computer or digital access devices (like tablets, smart phones etc.), send and receive e-mails, browse Internet, access Government services, search for information, undertake digital payment etc. and hence enable them to use the Information Technology and related applications especially Digital Payments to actively participate in the process of nation building. The Scheme aims to bridge the digital divide, specifically targeting the rural population including the marginalised sections of society like SC, ST, BPL, Women and differently-abled persons and minorities.

Kaushalya Karnataka

Kaushalya Karnataka is an ambitious skill development scheme of state government of Karnataka under which unemployed youth would be provided skill training. The main objective is to enhance the employability of youth by enhancing the skill through industry ready skill development programs. The scheme would help unemployed people to enroll for better skills and develop a nature to work. This would benefit the the poor and the people initerested in working and building a brighter future. The nation can also benefit from this scheme considering that every state is now giving the people who can’t afford to continue their work because of not possessing the right skills and requirements.

MEPMA

The Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) is a Government of AP Society forming part of Department of Municipal Administration & Urban Development. The mission of the scheme is to enable the urban poor particularly the poorest of the poor to eliminate poverty and vulnerability in a sustainable manner and improve their quality of life in urban areas. With this all the 30 lakh poor families will have improved quality of life by accessing services from all organizations through their own strong self reliant and self managed institutions.
